"SOUTH DAKOTA STANDING PROUD"

The purpose of the South Dakota Standing Proud Program is to recognize individuals, units, and organizations who, by superior performance or by service of a meritorious nature, make a major contribution to the well being of the South Dakota National Guard Enlisted Association and the effectiveness of the South Dakota National Guard.  This program was enacted in 1995 to further the goals of the South Dakota National Guard Enlisted Association in its efforts to promote adequate national and state security and to promote the welfare and professionalism of all enlisted members of the South Dakota National Guard.  Award categories and recipients of the South Dakota Standing Proud Awards Program:

Rushmore Award     Provide a means of recogniation to any person who distinguishes himself/herself with outstanding and exceptional service to the State of South Dakota, the South Dakota National Guard, or the South Dakota National Guard Enlisted Association.
